AvA & LiAm

It amazes me how when babies are together they seem recognize one another as a fellow baby~ Ava is always delighted and intrigued. Her best buddy is Liam Baumhover, from Iowa City. He is three weeks younger than Ava but already looks as big as her! Three weeks seems like so much time when you're pregnant, but I realize we will eventually refer to them as the same age:)
Whenever Ava & Liam see each other they seem to cheese it up so I have lots of cute pictures of them. Notice Liam smiles way more than Ava....She gets quite serious about him:)

These were taken in January, when Bridget stopped by for a quick visit. We're so happy that Dan and Bridget's parents live close to Des Moines. That means we see them much more than we thought we would!!

The best for last. Even though this picture is a part of the first collage, I just had to post a larger one. It just kills me the way they're looking at each other. I love this shot!

Everyone says their child is the most advanced.  That's crap - MY child is the most advanced.  I've seen babies roll over for their first few times.  In fact, I've seen babies roll over well past their first roll over date.  In no way were they as smooth as my baby Ava's first rolls.  Watch her do so with ease and grace.  Keep dreaming on about your "advanced baby"..."oh my baby is just so ahead for his/her age...blah blah blah".  Just watch our videos.  Your dreams will be shortly lived.

caffeine+ nursing= 1 wired baby & 2 exhausted parents

So I drank 3 cups of coffee last  night. In my defense, it was decaf. Really. (I made it myself). I did notice that it seemed stronger than usual, but I didn't think anything of it since I have a cup every morning. Yes, one cup not three....nice goin' Mama
After a few frustrating hours of checking our list of possible reasons as to why Ava was not sleeping, Jas remarked that she seemed "wired" like she had had some caffeine or something. Well the light went on & I told jas about the coffee. He reminded me that "decaf" does not mean totally 100% caffeine free. Great......So we settled in for a long night.
Anyway the following video shows our attempt to wear Ava out at 12:30 in the morning. Its not nearly as exciting as the giggles video, but I've  been looking for an excuse to post one of her in her "Jumperoo" anyway:)
