Each month of Ava's life I find myself thinking "Wow! I think this is the my favorite month with her so far- This just get's better and better!" I do realize that will change, but for now I'm happy to be in unassuming mommy-hood bliss thank you very much.....:)
This month Ava has begun to communicate so much better- both verbally and non verbally. She has moved from understanding "no", to shaking her head "no", to saying "NO!" It's so cute to watch her pass a wall outlet or some other no-no and hear her say to herself "no no no no" with added head shaking for emphasis:) She is also finally able to communicate yes by more than an excited squeal or shriek ( I have to admit I'm kind of missing those baby sounds) She is quite pleased with her new found understanding of "yes". She loves to point to anything and everything she can see so that I will say the word out loud...You know words like sock or arm...really exciting stuff:) then she will begin to nod her head up and down very slowly as if deciding whether or not to approve my answer....Hahaha! maybe this is a quirky mother/baby moment that you just have to be there for to think it's funny. Hmmmm. Yep I think so....Oops!
She is showing signs of her Daddy's talents by being able to imitate lots of sounds. She's got the farm animals down...her favorite being the rooster who goes cockadoodle doo....or "do dooo" As she says in her cute little munchkin voice:) And she is trying to sing the ABC's and Old MacDonald....I love to hear her sing!
She is starting to be able to put multiple words together (and by multiple I mean two) like "outside" and " these boots" and my favorite "Oh wow"
Ok so Ava's biggest news???? She pooped in her potty chair! Only twice, but still! YAY! Jas called me (I was at Starbucks getting some alone time) to tell me about her efforts....We were ridiculously excited. There were two couples sitting near me, each with newborns...I think even they thought I sounded a bit strange:) We know this is probably a fluke as she's only 15 months....But Jas and I can't help but dream big of having the youngest potty trained baby ever! Well ok not EVER, but we do think it would be great if we were nearing the end of diapers!
I can't believe how much she officially is not a baby anymore! My little girl, such a sweetheart...Thank you Jesus for her. You give the best gifts

"helping" me take down Christmas decor:)
Ava is happiest when she's....well naked of course!
Lots of love from Ava to me...sigh....she breaks my heart, she's so darn cute
Lots of Love from Ava and I to you!

Bek-I love the pics...and it was worth reading even if it was long. I too am loving this phase...although I could do without the little fits and throwing himself on the floor. It was cute the first couple of times, now I'm just like 'Get over it!'
I think we need a play date!!!
Read every word! Loved the pictures too! They grow up too fast huh? I won't give you any potty training advice sine Abbie took from 20 months until she was 32 months to potty train - a whole year - ugh! Anyway, glad to hear all of Ava's new adventures! Miss you guys!
DEFINITELY worth the long read, SO cute, and you're such a great mama. :) Congrats on the pooping! Can't wait to see you guys again...yay!
I love all of you. My goodness I need an Ava date!! Or an Ava-Bekah-Jason date :) I loved this post. It's so exciting to hear about what she is doing and how she is changing. I hope you are proud of yourself, because you should be. Love to all.
I read it all. I enjoyed it all. I understand the excitement of potty training - though maybe not completely yet. I miss you all! And it's such a bittersweet thing to look at Ava's pictures and realize that they have to grow up.
